Harmier was born in Edmonton Alberta but grew up and lived most of her life in Salmon Arm. She had a real zest for life and enjoyed skating, skiing, basketball, and most of all riding horses. She loved and was loved in return by her many friends, husband, and family. She was passionate about her chosen field of work in anthropology/sociology especially where it involves social justice. Her courage was inspirational during her seven year struggle with lymphoma which took her life on her 31st birthday. A gentle spirit taken much too soon.
