Isolde Frick was a very gentle, beautiful, generous person who with her husband, who predeceased her, emigrated from Germany and became a part of the fabric of the Shuswap population. Isolde’s connection to the hospital in Salmon Arm was first through her association with the Hospital Auxiliary where she was a faithful volunteer, manning her weekly shift in the gift shop and knitting and donating newborn outfits which were available through the gift shop. Isolde made several trips back to Germany in an effort to regain control over her ancestral property that became behind the ‘wall’. She loves to travel and for several years visited many exotic locations in places like Hawaii, Australia, Europe and other great places. She allowed others to vicariously enjoy her travels by sharing her experiences. She always remembered the Foundation with a very generous annual contribution, and was proudly recognized as a Patron. Isolde stated that it was her wish to see that the hospital was ready and able to provide the services she herself might need some day. Isolde sadly passed away and made one final gift to the Foundation in 2018 through her estate, we are now proud to recognize Isolde Frick as a Founder of the Shuswap Hospital Foundation.
