August 10, 1940 – May 27, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear father and husband, Cal, at home. He was born in New Westminster, B.C. and raised in the Fraser Valley. He began his welding apprenticeship in 1957 at Westminster Boiler and Tank. He married his wife, Jacquie, in 1962 and raised his girls in North Delta before moving to Langley. He was happily involved in Baseball, and Ringette with his daughters.
His favourite pastime was fishing, camping and watching the stock car races. He also enjoyed many trips south for the winter and the many travels he and Jacquie enjoyed together. His skill as a welder/fabricator enabled him to fix and build almost anything. Tinkering in his workshop and watching his grandchildren playing their numerous sports activities give him much pleasure. After retirement and moving to Salmon Arm, he enjoyed the Sunbird RV club, square dancing and quadding with the Sicamous Quadders. He enjoyed volunteering with Salmon Arm Citizens’ Patrol.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 57 years, Jacquie, and daughters, Laura Minnis (Miles), Paula Christensen (Ken) and Anita Thiessen (Dave) as well as his grandchildren, Brooks, TJ, Jenna, Keith, Sarah, Rob, and Shane. Cal is also survived by 6 brothers and sisters, many brother and sister-in-laws, as well as many friends and family.
