was born in Toronto. She, and her husband Fred, were transferred to Winnipeg, where she assisted with a ‘Brownie” group as a ‘Brown Owl”. They retired to Tappen in 1978. Betty, as she was known, volunteered with the Salmon Arm Food Bank. She was a people person and soon became the manager, retiring after fifteen years. She and Fred were members of the Salmon Arm Square Dance Club where she held executive positions both locally and regionally. Truly young at heart she was described by many of her friends as a great lady with a ready smile.
