was born in Germany, immigrated to Calgary with wife Elke in 1966. George worked as a millwright until 1972 when he opened his own auto repair. He retired to the Shuswap in 1991. He served as the leader of the German Speaking Society for 15 years . George enjoyed dancing, coffee and cake with his friends in the Club where he was noted for his humour. He loved sports including hunting, fishing and flying his own plane.
